About Refilling

How does refilling work?

At our markets, you can bring your own clean and dry plastic bottle or any other container and refill with everyday essentials such as soaps, shampoo, lotions and more. We weigh your container first so you don't pay for its weight, you fill your container with as much or as little of a product you want, and we re-weigh your filled container. We take off the original weight of the container and you pay for only what you've refilled. For how buying our refills online work, check out this page.

How clean should my bottles be for refilling?

Please thoroughly rinse out your bottles and ensure they are free from any residue or leftover product. If your container had food previously, please follow our suggested sanitizing steps here. Clean bottles help keep everyone using the refill service safe and healthy. We reserve the right to reject the use of a bottle that is not properly cleaned (you can always use our community bottles or buy a new glass bottle).

What if I don't have or forget my own reusable bottles?

No worries! We have community bottles that have been cleaned and sanitized for your use. We also have new glass bottles you can purchase and keep reusing.

What are "community bottles" and how are they cleaned?

We offer community bottles for customers who want to reuse but don't have their own clean containers. Our community bottles have all been thoroughly washed and sanitized with 70% alcohol solution. These containers come from our own use as well as customers.

I have extra bottles at home, can I give them to you?

We have a steady supply of used bottles we obtain from partners and customers; we do not need extra bottles now but if we do, we'll post it on our Instagram.

How are refill products priced?

Refill products are priced and sold by the ounce (oz). On our website, refill products are sold in predetermined amounts (10oz, 16oz, 32oz and 128oz) and include a $0.99 per bottle charge to help cover some of the cleaning and sanitizing costs of reused bottles

Where are your refill products made?

All our usefull branded refill products are made in the USA, primarily in Texas. We've gone through a rigorous process to select the best manufacturers who share our values of using clean, high quality ingredients.

Are your products vegan and cruelty free?

All of our products are cruelty free, absolutely! Most of our products, including all the refill products, are vegan. A few of our products, like the natural lip balm and mineral sunscreen contain sustainably and locally sourced beeswax.

What if I want to try your products?

We offer samples for you to try so you can be confident the product you buy is right for you. At our markets, just ask us for a sample, Online, you can include a note to add a sample when you check out. By the way, even for our samples we use reused travel or small containers we've collected. No new plastic is our motto.

How do you choose the products you sell?

First, we prioritize buying from companies that are committed to protecting the environment like we are. We vet our suppliers to ensure their operations are ethical (like paying a living wage to their people) and that they are sourcing and producing materials in a responsible manner (for example, getting bamboo from sustainably managed forests). Second, we test and try out every single product we sell, so you can be sure that the products you buy is of high quality and work well.

What payment methods do you accept at your markets?

We accept all major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Venmo. We also take cash but we don't always have a lot of change on hand.

Shipping & Returns

How do you make shipping more enviromentally friendly?

We try to reuse everything we can, this includes boxes, packaging paper and plastic (if you receive plastic with your order, it isn't new – it is being reused). We pack things in the appropriate sized boxes, and we also ship only with USPS.

Why do you only ship with USPS?

Shipping with USPS (United States Postal Service) is the most environmentally-friendly shipping option. Since USPS goes on the same routes each day and doesn’t make on-demand stops (like UPS and FedEx), this means that the packages we place into their work stream doesn’t add more routes or stops, thus no additional carbon emissions.

Where do you ship?

We only ship to the contiguous United States. We do not ship internationally because most of our eco-friendly products can be found in local markets, so we encourage customers to seek out local or in-country businesses, this way we reduce carbon emissions from international shipping and support local economies.

When can I expect to receive my order?

Please allow 1-3 business days for us to process your order. Shipping usually takes between 3-8 days. If you haven't received your order 8 days after your shipping confirmation email, please contact us.

Why don't you accept cancellations and returns?

As a small shop (with limited resources), we don’t normally accept order cancellations or changes once an order has been processed. We also aim to promote thoughtful and conscious purchasing, as such, we do not accept returns or exchanges. This also helps reduce carbon emissions and packaging waste. However, if you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact us and we'll do our best to resolve the issue. You can read more about our return policy here.
